Nasi Goreng Jawa (Javanese Fried Rice)



In Indonesian & English (the English version is below the recipe written in Indonesian)

Bahan
  • 500 gr Nasi putih, 2-3 sm Kecap manis
  • 200 gr Ayam-goreng & suwir2, Kerupuk
  • 2 Daun bawang-iris, 3 sm Bawang goreng
  • 2 Telur-orak arik/dadar lalu iris halus
  • 5 Bakso-rebus & iris2, 4 sm Minyak goreng
Haluskan:
  • 6 Bawang merah, 1 st Ketumbar, 2 st Garam
  • 3 Bawang putih, 2-3 Cabai keriting (opsional)
  • 4 Cabai merah, 1 st Terasi, 1 st Lada
  • 1 Tomat, 1 Kemiri

Cara membuat
  • Tumis bumbu halus. Masukkan kecap, ayam, bakso & nasi lalu aduk rata. Goreng sampai nasi kering & harum. Beri daun bawang, aduk & masak sebentar saja.
  • Hias dengan telur & taburi bawang goreng. Sajikan dengan kerupuk.

Ingredients
  • 500 gr cooked Rice, 3 tbsp Fried onion
  • 200 gr Chicken Fillet-fried & shredded
  • 2 Green onions-sliced, 4 tbsp frying Oil
  • 2-3 tbsp Sweet Soy Sauce, Crackers
  • 2 Eggs-scrambled/make omelette & slice
  • 5 Meatballs-boiled & thinly slice
Grind into paste:
  • 3 Garlic cloves, 2-3 Cayenne peppers (optional)
  • 4 Red chilies*, 1 tsp Shrimp paste** (optional)
  • 1 Tomato, 1 Candlenut, 1 st Coriander
  • 6 Shallots, 2 tsp Salt, 1 tsp Pepper

Directions
  • Sauté spices paste. Put in soy sauce, chicken, meatballs & rice; stir it well. Fry until the rice dries & it smells good. Stir in the green onion & cook for a while.
  • Sprinkle with fried onion & eggs. Serve fried rice with crackers.
  • * Red chilies is necessary to give that special flavor. If you don't want the fried rice to be spicy, just discard the seeds & membranes of the red chilies & omit the Cayenne peppers.
  • ** You could change the shrimp paste with fish sauce if you can't eat/find it.
